About this campsite
Staying in the Green Heart
Experience ultimate outdoor living in the Green Heart countryside. You will stay with Marisca and Anton on the farm TaarTenTuin. They own a small-scale farm with a variety of animals. A few tents are pitched in a quiet place on the farm. Comfortable beds, a wood stove, a private shower and toilet: it has it all. There's no Wi-Fi or electricity, so you can spend quality time together. Has your e-reader battery run out, just as you have reached an exciting chapter? You can recharge in the old stable, where delicious cake, coffee and tea are now served. In the evening, relax by candlelight under the starry sky. During the day, you can experience real farm life, or discover the surrounding countryside. Now that's what you call a holiday, with a touch of farm life.
What a lovely bunch of animals
In every stable on the farm, there is something to do, and there's lots of animals grazing around. Chickens, turkeys, sheep, goats, pigs, ponies, cows, rabbits, cats and of course, the lambs in spring. Help the farmer when it's animal feeding time, or pat them on the head in between. The farmers' dogs will also greet you enthusiastically. At the neighbours' riding school, you can even ride a pony. TaarTenTuin is a very special place for the whole family. There are ample playing opportunities for kids. Driving around on a go-kart, or discovering life in the ditches with a net. In the morning, you can collect fresh eggs at the chicken coop for breakfast.
The tents have a beautiful view of the meadows and the Molenviergang. A truly Dutch view of days gone by, and also unique. This Molenviergang is the only working mill in the world. There are many walking routes passing by, and you can visit the Putmolen on appointment. The Nieuwkoopse Plassen are practically around the corner. Rent an electric boat and go sailing. You can also go and get a breath of fresh air on the Noordwijk beach. It's only half-an-hour's drive. Several nice cities are only half an hour from the farm. Always nice to spend a day in Gouda, Leiden or The Hague during the holidays. Or visit the special Archeon in Alphen aan den Rijn. Although it is also great to just stay on the farm. There's plenty to do!
