Coronavirus COVID-19

Last updated at 27 March 2020 – 9.00pm.

GENERAL SITUATION

The coronavirus is leading to new developments every day. That's why we keep in close contact with the relevant bodies. We are constantly adapting our policy according to the current guidelines. You will find an overview of frequently asked questions and answers below. These apply to the Roompot parks.

Q 1. Can I still go on holiday in view of the coronavirus (COVID-19)?
Yes, many parks in the Netherlands are open. But it is quite a valid question. We understand that you want to go on holiday with peace of mind. And we are doing our best to ensure you can. In many cases your holiday can still go ahead. The same national guidelines apply to a stay in the parks as you would follow at home. But, we are taking a number of additional measures too.

Q 2. What measures are Roompot taking to prevent the spread?
The national policy is aimed at minimising social contacts with others and ensuring (hand) hygiene. At all Roompot parks in the Netherlands we have closed the entertainment, kids club, swimming pool, wellness and the restaurants until 1 June. Until then, at certain parks, we will deliver snacks and meals to your holiday home. Reception, the shop and bike rental are open. We focus even more on the cleaning of frequently visited places, and hand gels are available. As soon as it is possible according to government advice, all facilities will be opened once again.

Q 3. Are all Roompot holiday parks open?
Thanks to the measures we are taking, most Roompot holiday parks in the Netherlands can remain open. Exceptions are all campsites in the Netherlands, all parks in the Dutch regions of Twente and Rotterdam-Rijnmond, the province of Zeeland and all parks in Germany and Belgium that are closed.

CHANGES AND CANCELLING

Q 4. My holiday falls in the period up to 1 June. What if I want to rebook?
Of course, we would prefer your holiday to just go ahead in the coming weeks. Have you booked a holiday at one of the Dutch Roompot parks with an arrival date up to, or on 1 June? And have you decided to change it? You can apply for a leisure voucher to the value of your already paid travel sum, which you can use to book a new stay of your choice with us. If you are eligible for the leisure voucher, we will send it to you by e-mail within a few days of your request.

The German and Belgian parks, all parks in the Dutch regions of Twente and Rotterdam-Rijnmond, the province of Zeeland and Dutch campsites are unfortunately closed until at least 6 April. If you have booked a holiday at a German or Belgian park, a park in the Dutch regions of Twente or Rotterdam-Rijnmond, the province of Zeeland or at one of the Dutch campsites during that period, your stay will be cancelled and you will receive a leisure voucher by e-mail over the course of the next week. In order to reduce the pressure on our telephone lines, we ask you to refrain from contacting us in the meantime. You are welcome to do this next week if something is unclear after receiving the voucher.

Q 5. My holiday falls in the period up to 1 June. What if I want to cancel?
You don't have to cancel your holiday. You can apply for a leisure voucher to the value of the already paid travel sum. This allows you to book a new stay of your choice with us.

Q 6. I want to rebook for an arrival after 1 June/this summer. Is that possible?
You can use our rebooking guarantee. Roompot allows you to change your booking up to 28 days before your arrival date, at no extra cost. This could include expanding your tour group or changing the time period or your holiday accommodation. A holiday at a different time or different destination may, of course, cost a little more. In that case, only the difference is charged (so you don't pay any change fees).

LEISURE VOUCHER

Q 7. How does the leisure voucher work?
If you have booked a holiday in Belgium or Germany, the Dutch regions of Twente and Rotterdam-Rijnmond, the province of Zeeland or on a Dutch campsite, you will automatically receive an e-mail within a few days with the leisure voucher to the value of the travel sum already paid. Are you planning a holiday in the Netherlands and have you applied for a leisure voucher? You will receive the leisure voucher to the value of the already paid travel sum by e-mail in a few days.

With the leisure voucher you can book a new trip with an arrival date up to 13 months after the original arrival date. The e-mail clearly describes how you can redeem your leisure voucher.

Q 8. How long will the leisure voucher remain valid?
The leisure voucher will remain valid for a period of 13 months after the original date of arrival. This means you must arrive at the newly booked accommodation within 13 months of the original arrival date, subject to accommodation availability.

Q 9. Can I use the leisure voucher for multiple bookings?
The leisure voucher is worth the already paid travel sum. You can indeed use the leisure voucher for multiple bookings, or for a restaurant cheque at the park.

Q 10. Have you kept the fact in mind that the May holiday will fall later next year?
Yes, we did. The leisure voucher will remain valid for a period of 13 months after the original date of arrival. Next year's May holiday falls within this period.

FACILITIES AND ENTERTAINMENT

Q 11. Which facilities are open/closed until 1 June?
The national policy is aimed at minimising social contacts with others and ensuring (hand) hygiene. At all Roompot parks in the Netherlands we have closed the entertainment, kids club, swimming pool, wellness and the restaurants until 1 June. Until then, at certain parks, we will deliver snacks and meals to your holiday home. Reception, the shop and bike rental are open. We focus even more on the cleaning of frequently visited places, and hand gels are available. As soon as it is possible according to government advice, all facilities will be opened once again.

Q 12. Where will Koos Konijn be up to 1 June?
To limit personal contact between guests and our employees, Koos Konijn will also be staying at home for a while. Koos wishes all children a lovely holiday and has jotted 1 June down in his agenda. He looks forward to playing with the kids again on that day.
