Hohenwarterseehof

Experience ultimate outdoor living in the Thüringer Woods countryside. You will stay at the Hohenwarter Seehof farm with Heidi and Rolf. They own a livestock farm with Dexter cattle. 3 tents are pitched in a quiet place, slightly higher up on the farm. Comfortable beds, a wood stove, a private shower and toilet: it has it all. There's no Wi-Fi or electricity, so you can spend quality time together. Has your e-reader battery run out, just as you've reached an exciting chapter? You can recharge it at the farm shop. In the evening, relax by candlelight under the starry sky. During the day, you can experience real farm life, or discover the surrounding countryside. Now that's a holiday with a touch of farm life.

Travel back in time

At times during your stay at Hohenwarter Seehof, you'll feel like you're in a different era. The farm has been a true family farm since the 16th century, and parts of the buildings still date back to this time. Get to know the pigs, donkeys, dwarf goats and of course the special Dexter cows. You can help the farmer feed all the animals. Or take a look at the extensive vegetable garden and herb garden. It always smells great here! A meal in the Hohenwarter Seehof's restaurant, with local ingredients of course, is also highly recommended. Perfect if you don't feel like doing your own cooking.

Magical experiences

The countryside around Hohenwarter Seehof is truly special. From your tent, you have a beautiful view over the lake. You can swim in the lake on a warm summer's day. You can also fish or take a boat trip. And if you would rather stay ashore, there are more than 70 kilometres of hiking trails around the farm. Or visit Saalfeld, about a 45-minute drive away. You can also visit fairytale caves here. It's bound to be a magical holiday!
