Imagine yourself back in time with a ride on a historic tram from the RTM museum at Port Zélande. For even more of these beautiful surroundings, you can combine the tram ride with a boat trip on the Grevelingenmeer. Please note the changing departure times. How were children taught?

In this authentic school building from 1845, many generations enjoyed Burgh’s education. In the old classroom, on the playground and in the herb garden you go back in time a 100 years. Behind the showcases are several original attributes the students and teachers previously used during the lessons.

Museumhaven Zeeland is a museum at two locations. Outside, in the old medieval harbour of Zierikzee, you can view a beautiful fleet of ships up close. The indoor location offers ships that are being restored.

Climb between the tree tops

High above the ground from tree to tree with zip-lines, rope ladders, wobbling bridges and many other climbing attributes. There are four challenging tracks in the climbing forest. It is a fun, active nature experience for families, schools and companies, for everyone from advanced to beginning climbers: an adventurous and exciting day!

Remember and commemorate the North Sea Flood by visiting Museum Watersnood 1953. Children can go on various quests, making them learn about the past and future of water management in a playful manner.

Deltapark Neeltje Jans is an adventurous day out for the whole family. The park is located in the middle of the beautiful Oosterschelde National Park. Here, everything revolves around sun, sea, nature, water, wind, culture and technology. Experience the historical story in the Delta Experience, go on a guided tour through the Delta Expo and to the storm surge barrier, visit the sea lion and seal presentation, stand eye to eye with tropical sharks in Zeeland's largest saltwater aquarium Bluereef, cool off in the Aquasplash, slide down the water slide, get a breath of fresh air in our hurricane machine and rest in the park train. In short, there is plenty to do for a great day. Want to spot seals and porpoises? Then go along on the Christiaan B tour boat!

Take a journey through the island history!

The museum consists of an old village shop, a fire department station and a period room. The collection includes earthenware, farming and fishing gear, funerary hatchments, paintings and so on. The museum is located in seven gabled houses from the seventeenth century, which are interlinked on the inside.

From bucket to fire engine

What to do in case of fire? In Amsterdam they had come up with a solution in 1413 already: 'Shout out loud the words Fire, Fire, Fire!' The city had over 12,000 buckets at its disposal. You can discover many more facts in the National Fire Brigade Museum, which has a unique collection of fire fighting equipment from around 1550 to date.
