Dive into the heated indoor pool and enjoy a refreshing start to the day. Swim a few lengths or play in the water with your children. For the little ones there is a separate paddling pool where they can splash around. Water fun for the whole family!

Time to relax? Make use of the park's wellness facilities and enjoy a moment for yourself. Unwind in the sauna, refresh yourself in the plunge pool, or relax in the Turkish steam bath. In the comfortable relaxation area you can then recover and enjoy the peace.

Swimming

Jump into the heated indoor pool and have a day full of water fun. Swim freely, swim a few lengths or play in the water with the children. The little ones have a great time in the separate paddling pool, ideal for playing and splashing around.

Food and drinks

Fancy something to eat? Visit Restaurant Het Grote Zand for a delicious lunch or a sumptuous dinner. Choose a spot in the cozy restaurant or enjoy outside on the sunny terrace. For a drink, you are welcome in the brown café with its cozy bar. Prefer a quick bite? Get fresh fries and tasty snacks at the snack bar. For fresh bread rolls and all your daily groceries, the mini market offers a wide selection.

Kids

Children have the time of their lives at The Great Sand Estate. In the Jungle Forest they go on an adventure, with plenty of opportunities to climb, clamber and romp. Do you dare to take the cable car? Furthermore, the kids can have fun in the playgrounds and jump high in the air on the air trampoline. During the Dutch school holidays, the entertainment team provides a varied programme full of sports and games activities. Boredom is not an option here!

Sport and games

The natural surroundings of the park are waiting to be discovered. From Het Grote Zand you can follow the most beautiful routes. Take a long walk through the unspoiled nature or get on your bike and explore the flora and fauna you will encounter along the way. Don't have your own bike? No problem! At the park's bike rental you can choose from city bikes, electric bikes, children's bikes and e-choppers.

Beauty and wellness

Want to do nothing at all? Relax and unwind at the park's wellness facilities. For a small fee, you can enjoy the sauna, Turkish bath and footbath. Pamper yourself in the plunge pool or solarium, and end your wellness experience in the comfortable relaxation room. Unwind and recharge.

Memorial centre Camp Westerbork

In the middle of Drenthe lies a place with an important history. A visit to this impressive museum gives you a glimpse of what has happened here.

Het Boomkroonpad

or nine years already, the Boomkroonpad at the Boswachterij Gieten Borger has been a special attraction. From the carrot-tunnel up to the watchtower, at the Boomkroonpad the forest never gets boring!

Estate Het Grote Zand is, partly because of the beautiful location in the wooded province of Drenthe, the perfect location for a wonderful holiday. The spacious park has plenty to offer for young and old, from relaxing in the sauna or Turkish bath to swimming in the indoor pool.

The area around the park is simply beautiful. Here you can still enjoy unspoilt nature during a leisurely stroll or bike ride through the forests and heaths. But not only the nature of Drenthe is perfect for trips, its capital Assen, the mysterious dolmens, Memorial Centre Camp Westerbork and Wildlands Adventure Zoo are all very much worth a visit.
