Step straight into the boat from your comfortable holiday home and discover the picturesque canals of Giethoorn. From February to October, you have your own electric boat at your disposal during your stay (except for the Tiny House 2 and Lepelaar hotel chalet 4). Book one of the group accommodations? Then you can explore the canals all year round, as long as the weather permits. Please note: the park is only accessible via a pedestrian bridge. This makes the park less suitable for the disabled.

Holiday park Giethoorn is paradise for water lovers. Step aboard and explore Giethoorn's canals and charming bridges, or discover the nature of National Park Weerribben-Wieden. Lake Bovenwijde, which connects Giethoorn's canals, offers endless opportunities for water sports. Besides slooping and sailing, you can also surf, canoe and aquabubble here.

Venice of the North

One of the most fairytale villages in the Netherlands, Giethoorn is criss-crossed by numerous waterways. The village is known for its kilometres of canals, dozens of arched bridges and authentic thatched farmhouses. Did you know that Giethoorn is also known as the 'Dutch Venice'? A visit to Giethoorn feels like a trip to Venice, but closer to home.

Swimming

When staying at Holiday Park Giethoorn, you will be completely surrounded by water. The park is located directly on lake Het Bovenwijde, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim or a relaxing day on the shore. The calm water is perfect for swimming or just floating around. Along the banks you will find several recreational and picnic spots, ideal for enjoying nature and a day of water fun.

Looking for a cosy dinner and grill restaurant? Eetcafé Giethoorn is the perfect place! Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and the beautiful waterside terrace.The restaurant is known for its tasty burgers and spare ribs, but offers something for everyone. Join us for a delicious lunch, drinks or a sumptuous dinner. Prefer to eat at your accommodation? Have a meal delivered to your home or order a complete gourmet or barbecue package. Start your day with a fresh breakfast and order the breakfast service.

Kids

Children can have a great time in the play loft on the first floor of the restaurant. From spinning and puzzle games to table football, slide down the slide or play in the ball pit. Hours of fun is guaranteed. They can also climb and clamber on the play ship. During high season, there's a special entertainment programme with fun activities for the kids.

Sport and games

The waters around Holiday Park Giethoorn are a true water sports paradise. Besides sailing, you can surf, canoe, water-ski and aquabubble. It is also an ideal place for anglers: cast your line from your accommodation in the fishing water at the park or at one of the fishing spots in the area. Prefer to explore nature? Rent a bike or canoe and discover the vast surroundings. With its many cycling routes, this region is also one of the most popular cycling areas in the Netherlands.

Giethoorn

Giethoorn is criss-crossed by many waterways. Make your day trip complete with a boat trip through the village and the nearby Weerribben Wieden National Park. You can rent boats anywhere in the village.

Weerribben-Wieden National Park

The Weerribben-Wieden is a nature reserve formed by human hands, created in the 16th century by peat excavation for peat production. This created ‘weren’ (holes), ‘ribben’ (strips of land) and ‘wieden’ (lakes).

Anningahof Estate (Sculpture Garden)

The sculpture park of the Anningahof Estate is located on the outskirts of Zwolle, in a beautiful, natural environment. Here, everything revolves around contemporary Dutch sculpture from 1960 onwards.

Your holiday at Vakantiepark Giethoorn

The quaint village Giethoorn in Overijssel is sometimes called ‘Venice of the North’. In this village you will mostly find waterways; the ideal place for water enthusiasts! Giethoorn is part of National Park Weerribben-Wieden and consists of authentic farms, kilometres of canals and dozens of bridges. You won’t find any cars, so the best way to explore the village is on foot, by bike or by boat. From february to october, you will have your own electric sloop at your disposal during your stay (excl. Tiny House 2 and Lepelaar hotelchalet 4). If you are booking one of our group accommodations, you can go out by boat all year round, weather permitting. In the centre you can find nice little shops, several museums and different restaurants and brasseries.

The area around Giethoorn is a true water sports paradise. Apart from dinghy sailing and sailing, there are also plenty of opportunities for surfing, canoeing and aqua-dubbing. Doesn’t that sound like great fun?
