To Ameland by ferry

Boomhiemke Holiday Park is located on Ameland. This Wadden island is only reachable by ferry. The ferry service departs from Holwerd. Tickets can be ordered online in advance. There are tickets for different modes of transport. If you are travelling as a pedestrian, without a bicycle or other means of transport, it is still advisable to order a ticket in advance. Thus, you are guaranteed a seat on the ferry. Are you travelling to Ameland by car? Please book well in advance. Of course, you can also park your car in Holwerd. Charging stations are available on the parking.

Public transport

Ameland offers excellent public transport. The ferry arrives at Nes. The No. 1 bus to Hollum drops you at the park's entrance. Get off at the Boomhiemke bus stop.

Parking at the holiday park

There is 1 parking available per holiday home. 

EV charging station

The park has a central charging point for electric cars. Some holiday homes also have a private charging point. You can book these homes as a preference. To use a charging point, you must have a charging card. Charging cards are not available at the park. 

Bringing your dog along?

Ameland is a paradise for dogs. Will you be bringing your dog with you? No problem! We provide a pet-friendly stay. You will pay a surcharge per dog, per night. Please keep to these agreements:

  • Please indicate that your dog will accompany you when making your reservation.
  • You can bring a maximum of 2 dogs in pet-friendly accommodations.
  • Keep your dog leashed at the holiday park, in the villages, the woodlands and on the guarded beaches. Your dog can romp about freely in all other beach zones.
  • Don't leave your dog alone in your holiday accommodation.

Amounts due

Any amounts due listed on your voucher should be paid to our account straight away. If you have already transferred the amount due to our account or are planning to do so immediately, be sure to bring valid proof of payment (e.g. bank statement). You will need to submit this to the Service point when you arrive. If you do not have valid proof of payment you will be obliged to pay the outstanding amount when you arrive at the park.

Visitors

Visitors are more than welcome. Will anyone stay over? Overnight visitors must report to the Service point in advance.

Children's furniture

Our camp cots measure 120 by 60 cm. By default, these cots contain a thin base of 1.5-cm slats. We recommend that you bring a thicker mattress of your own if required. As we do not have bed linen for camp cots, you should take it along as well.

Arrivals, admission & check-in

Arrival

Your holiday accommodation is available from 16:00 on the day of arrival. Arrival is possible until the last ferry. If the Service point is closed, the key will be ready for collection in the restaurant. If you arrive on another day, please inform the Service point on telephone number +31 (0)519 554 052.

Access to the holiday home

You will receive your key to enter your holiday accommodation at the Service point. For the transfer of keys, we always check that we have received the payment of your stay with us on the account. If this is not the case, you can pay the amount right away. This can be done with a debit card, VISA, Mastercard or cash.

Departure & administrative handling

Leaving your holiday accommodation neat and tidy

Off course, the holiday accommodation will be left neat and tidy. When leaving, please be sure to do the following: Return furniture to where you originally found it.

  • Remove all bed linen, gather up the kitchen towels and bath towels and place all the dirty laundry in the corridor in the pillow cases.
  • Empty the dishwasher and place the clean items in the cupboards.
  • Hand in your separated waste at our recycling centre.
  • Vacuum the floors.
  • Empty and sweep the open fire (if there is one).

Didn't you book a final cleaning? Then please ensure you leave all rooms in the holiday home neat and clean.

Please hand in your key

Make sure you have left your holiday home by 10:00. Please hand in your key at the Service point.

Deposit refund

We will return the deposit to your account within 7 days if the accommodation has been left tidy and damage-free, and the inventory is complete. If this is not the case, we will pay for the repairs or cleaning work using the deposit. We will always let you know.
