Swimming

Roompot Ameland does not have a swimming pool, but just 950 metres from the park you are on the beach. In the summer, you can run straight into the sea for a refreshing dip, enjoy the sunshine and take a walk on the beach together. The kids can play for hours on the beach or have fun in the water.

Food and drinks

Slide into our atmospheric brasserie for a sumptuous lunch, drinks or dinner. For your daily groceries and fresh rolls, visit the mini shop.

Kids

Children won't get bored on Roompot Ameland. They can play on the beach, the park playground next to the brasserie, or take part in one of the organised activities. Challenge each other to a game of beachball or build a big sandcastle.

Sport and games

Discover the nature of Ameland. Hire one of our bikes at the park and ride the Ameland route. Make a stop at one of the charming villages and settle down on a terrace. During a walk through Het Oerd or the Ballumerduinen, you can spot rare flowers, plants, birds and wildlife. There is plenty to do on and around the water. Try windsurfing, kayaking or rafting, for example.

Enjoy the beach in Hollum: feel the breeze, build sandcastles with the kids, or read a book in the sun. End the day with a snack in a pavilion. The water is clean and of top quality.

Ameland lighthouse

The red-and-white lighthouse of Ameland is 55 meters tall and offers a beautiful view. Since 2005, it is no longer in use, but it is still used as an exhibition space that you can visit.

Golf course Ameland

Golfing in the Ameland dunes offers the perfect mix of sport and vacation vibes. Enjoy the views, use the lighthouse as a target, and spot a deer. The PAR 3 course is open to everyone, perfect for beginners.

Welcome to Ameland, the best island for all nature enthusiasts and holidaymakers. What shall we do today? Head to the beach, go into the ambient village of Hollum, or recce the surrounding area? One thing's for sure; the car can stay put. On Ameland you can go wherever you need on foot or by (hire) bike. The beautiful stroll to the beach isn't even a kilometre long. On the way, why not pop in to see the exhibitions in the lighthouse (advance booking required). Fancy heading out on the water? Go on a boat trip or 'wad-hop' to Terschelling or Schiermonnikoog. You'll find plenty of great shops and convivial cafes in Hollum and other small villages in the vicinity. Where you can come to after yet another great day spent in Ameland-style.
